The 1928 Fageol Truck Project
The ASMA usually has several restoration and or maintenance projects going at any one time. If you can donate time, expertise, materials, artifacts or dollars towards the preservation of Sierra Nevada Mining, Sawmill and Logging history, please contact us.
1928 Fageol Truck History
The Amador Sawmill & Mining Association aquired a 1928 Fageol flatbed truck from the owner of Andreason Mill before the Mill and property were sold. The truck had been made at the Fageol factory in Oakland, CA and sold originally to the Winton Lumber Company located in Calaveras and Amador Counties. After working for many years for Winton Lumber, it was then sold to the Andreason Mill owners who used it to haul lumber from their sawmill to their lumber yard in Plymouth, CA and to various customers in Amador County, Calaveras County, and cities such as Stockton and Sacramento.
1928 Fageol Truck Project
This classic historic truck tells a story of the mining and lumber
industry in both Amador and Calaveras Counties. ASMA's primary goal
is to rebuild the truck enough to be able to drive it in parades,
shows, and to display it at Fairs. It will be on permanent display
at the Kennedy Gold Mine near Jackson, CA when finished.
